Treviso: what to see

Treviso: what to see

Just 30 minutes from Susegana is the provincial capital city of Veneto: Treviso.

Treviso, also on water, is crossed by the two rivers Sile and Botteniga, which give it a charming and romantic atmosphere.

The historic center, filled with numerous historic buildings, canals and bordered by medieval walls, is ideal for a relaxing stroll or a nice bike ride.

Definitely not to be missed is the Piazza dei Signori overlooked by the 14th-century Palazzo del Podestà and Palazzo Pretorio.

From the Piazza dei Signori, passing along Via Calmaggiore, a Roman-era street that is now the fashion and shopping street, you reach Piazza del Duomo.

The Cathedral of Treviso, of early Christian origin built in the Romanesque style, is characterized by its seven domes, five of which are located in the nave, and inside it preserves the Pala dell'Annunziata painted by Titian.

Also located in the heart of the city are the civic museums.

The Santa Caterina civic museum dedicated to Ancient Art, the Luigi Bailo museum dedicated to works between the 19th and 20th centuries, and the Cà da Noal - Casa Robegan museum, an ancient medieval castle that now houses many contemporary exhibitions.
